House of Wit is the creative universe of Roderick Wit, a Dutch sculptor and painter with a penchant for form, transformation, and theatrical imagery. His work operates at the intersection of the tangible and the symbolic, characterized by a raw, expressive aesthetic.
What began as a carnival float builder has blossomed into an international career. As a self-taught artist, Roderick taught himself the techniques of sculpture and decoration and collaborated on props for major musicals at venues such as the Sydney Opera House and Hamburg theaters.
Today, he works as a painter and sculptor at Theater Münster, while in his own studio, under the name House of Wit, he creates sculptures and objects that interweave memory, form, and emotion. Each work bears the hallmark of craftsmanship and personal vision: a continuous search for the boundary between reality and imagination.
