About Me
House of Wit is the creative universe of Roderick Wit , a Dutch sculptor and painter with a penchant for form, transformation, and theatrical imagery. His work moves at the intersection of the tangible and the symbolic, and is inspired by the raw, expressive aesthetics of artists such as Jack of the Dust .
What began with building carnival floats blossomed into an international career. As a self-taught artist, Roderick learned the techniques of sculpture and decoration, and found his way to iconic venues such as the Sydney Opera House and the theaters of Hamburg , where he worked on props for grand musicals.
Today, he works as a painter and sculptor at the Theater Münster , while in his own studio under the name House of Wit he creates sculptures and objects that intertwine memory, form, and emotion. Each work bears the stamp of craftsmanship and personal vision—a quest for the boundary between reality and imagination.
